There is a lot of flower waste generated in the city daily which could be used productively to reduce waste that might end up in landfills. There’s where Envirocentre Foundation plans to step in and give solutions to tons of flower wastes from the local temples and surroundings. These flower waste when recycled can save rivers from getting dumped with waste flowers. With this motivation, our team conducted a scoping survey at some temples in south Kolkata to see how much waste is generated daily from these temples and where they are finally disposed of. Based on an entire survey’s findings, we resumed our research on temple waste management.
